Brief
The main objective of the project was to create a compact body shape of a camera quadcopter that enclosures all the components needed for the flight and operation. Other priorities included the implementation of a motorized 3-axis gimbal with a camera and a well-accessible, easily replaceable battery. All of the body parts are designed to not interfere with the overall shaping. The result is a quadcopter designed for capturing videos or photos suitable with its equipment for semi-professionals.
Description
Compact body of the quadcopter, organically widened into the protective rings surrounding the propellers, flows into the rounded landing legs. Distinctive design elements are the ventilation holes, which are located on both sides of each arm and follow the overall tectonics of the body. The bearing element of the quadcopter is the internal main frame structure to which all other parts are connected. Individual outer covers are attached to the structure with screws.
The internal structure, the propellers and the protective rings of the propellers are made of carbon fiber composite, outer covers are made of white ABS plastic with satin surface finish. Vibration damper of the camera gimbal is suspended from the internal structure using rubber blocks. Due to the necessary cooling of all internal components, ventilation holes are located also in the direction of flight, which allows air to flow through the body and cools sufficiently.
The shaping of the body is also adapted to the presence of the battery, so that it is possible to easily grasp the battery between the thumb and forefinger of one hand and after pressing the release button replace it conveniently. When changing the memory card, the camera rotates to the position with the lens facing up, so that the user has direct access to the memory card.
